The Help to Buy scheme is meant to move first home buyers onto or up the housing ladder. If you wish to sublet the home you purchased through the scheme, you must first repay the equity loan you received. However, exceptional circumstances apply to members of the Armed Forces. If your tour of duty requires you to live away from the area where you purchased your home for a fixed period of time, subletting may be considered. You would also be required to obtain approval from your mortgage lender.
T&C’s can be accessed in the Help to Buy Buyer’s Guide.
