ASSISTED MOVES INCREASE AS MORE BUYERS OPT TO DOWNSIZE

December 2008

New Homes Part Exchange has seen an increase in demand for Assisted Moves, where they advise and assist new homebuyers on the marketing and sale of their existing home, as more people choose to downsize in the current climate.

The Assisted Move service is primarily aimed at homebuyers who are downsizing and therefore do not qualify for part exchange, which requires the customer to purchase a more expensive property. Downsizing has traditionally been the preserve of older homeowners, but the economic situation is causing more families and young professionals to downsize, in order to reduce or even eliminate mortgage repayments to free up their personal finances.

Gaynor Hookings, Marketing Director, comments:

"Our Assisted Move service is proving increasingly popular with our housebuilder clients as a growing number of homebuyers from all sectors decide to downsize and reduce their debts.

"New homebuyers often need to sell their property quickly, for the best possible price, paving the way for them to purchase their new home. With collapsed chains currently one of the main problems facing new homebuyers, the advice and expertise offered by New Homes Part Exchange is invaluable in ensuring the sale completes successfully."

Through an Assisted Move, the principles are the same, New Homes Part Exchange will help the customer sell their home by organising valuations, liaising with estate agents and advising on marketing and price.
